Hello everyone, it’s nice to meet you!

I am Emma Crawford (she/her), a photographer specializing in performance, portrait, and event photography in Washington, D.C. and the greater DMV area.

I’m Emma Crawford and I used she/her pronouns and I’m a queer photographer in the DMV area.

While I started photography when you could still buy disposable cameras at the check-out counter at the grocery store, I got my first DSLR with a stipend check I earned choreographing a middle school production of Seussical.  This narrative followed me as I originally went to college as a dance major, but graduated with a degree in media studies and minor in theatre.

The lines between choreography, theatre, and photography all blur for me.  It’s one thing to own a camera and take a picture of what’s in front of you.  It’s another thing to find a story and share it with a single frame.
